Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter. She's released over 20 albums. Her music is classified as folk rock as well as alternative rock, but it is also influenced by punk funk hip hop and jazz. Ani diFranco was the first person to create her own record company in 1990. Ani is widely considered as one of the feminist icons. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd 1970. She is the daughter Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco The couple had made acquaintance while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was Italian descent and her mother was originally from Montreal. 32 Flavors is a hit song recorded and performed by Ani DiFranco. The track was first released in 1995 on the sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl. The track was included in the soundtrack to the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco apologized in 2013 after it was revealed that she was hosting a 3-day workshop on one of the Louisiana former slave plantation. Though she was able to pull the workshop out several people (including the author of this article) didn't feel any regret. DiFranco apologized for her actions just a few days later. The singer is well-known for her Little Folksinger, but she's performed with many musicians and styles that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. She lives in New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is married to Kristen Ford. She began writing songs at the age of 14. They were performed in bars and in coffee shops all through her teenage years. DiFranco began taking lessons at Buffalo State College at age 16 following her graduation from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts.
