Rosie Huntington

RosieQueen Latifah, was born Dana Elaine Owens, March 18, 1970 in Newark. Latifah is the second child of Lance Owens and Rita Owens is well-known for her political activism and acting skills , as well as for her talent for rhyme. At 8 years old her cousin from Islam gave her the name Latifah which translates to "delicate" and "sensitive" in Arabic. Latifah began singing with the Shiloh Baptist Church's choir located in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Her first performance was when she sang "Home" as the character of Dorothy in a show of The Wizard of Oz at St. Anne's Parochial School. Her mother was a key influencer for her involvement; she was constantly in touch with the children and music. She invited Mark James, a local disc jockey, dubbed D.J. Mark the 45 King, was invited to perform at a dance school.
